Beneath the Lanterns,
A Table Awaits
As dusk settles over the cemetery's ancient trees, lanterns flicker to life and a single long table stretches into the night. This year, we journey to Morocco — a feast of spice and silk, of fire-lit gold and quiet wonder. Held in the sacred grounds of Beechwood Cemetery, this unforgettable evening invites you to dine, to give, and to be part of something truly magical.

Why we gather
To Partage Is To Share Partage · French for "to share"
In Vanier, food is more than sustenance — it is dignity, connection, love. The funds raised this night go directly to Partage Vanier, the most-visited food bank in Ontario and one of the busiest in all of Canada. Since 2022, the need has grown by over 30% each year. Your seat at this table feeds more than stomachs — it feeds spirits, restores hope, and ensures no neighbour goes hungry.
Demand growth
+30%
Annual increase in demand at Partage Vanier since 2022.
Each year. And rising.
The Chef
Meet the Chef: Dave Godsoe
Chef Dave Godsoe brings family roots in New Brunswick and a lifelong passion for Maritime and French-inspired Canadian cuisine to the table. Through his practice DG Cuisine, David brings that culinary vision to life across private events, hospitality consulting, and culinary ambassadorship — including his work representing Aussie Beef and Lamb, where he showcases his expertise in whole-animal butchery and protein-forward cookery.
A Vanier resident, David has watched firsthand the impact the Partage Beechwood dinner has on this community — because he lives one block away. Now in his third year as the event's chef, he brings the same care and craft to this table that he brings to everything he does: ingredient-driven cuisine rooted in Canadian terroir, shaped by classical French technique and bold Maritime influence.
Known as much for his generosity as his cooking, David is a regular contributor to community events and charitable initiatives across Ottawa. He believes the best meals are the ones that bring people together — and there's no better proof of that than this one.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
How much is a ticket to attend?
Tickets are $350 + HST and include a five-course meal with wine and beverage pairings, plus a $50 donation to Partage Vanier Food Bank built into every ticket. Tickets go on sale June 1, with early access for past guests on June 2 and 3.
-
Will I receive a tax receipt for my ticket?
Yes — a tax receipt is issued for the portion of your ticket that is a direct donation to Partage Vanier Food Bank (the meal and event costs are not eligible for a receipt). Receipts are issued by the Vanier Community Services Centre after the event.
-
Is the dinner really outside… in a cemetery?
It is — and that's the magic of it. Beechwood Cemetery is the National Cemetery of Canada and one of the most beautiful green spaces in Ottawa. One long table is set beneath its towering trees, lit by lanterns and candlelight. Guests routinely tell us it's the most memorable dinner they've ever attended.
-
What happens if it rains?
The dinner goes on, rain or shine. We have weather contingencies in place and will communicate any updates to ticket holders ahead of the event. Dress for the evening with a layer or two — August nights in Ottawa can be cool once the sun sets.

I'd love to become a sponsor — how can I get involved?
